NetworkedBlogs followers voted me #1…

Hi, Mom! That's my article, ranked at #1 today...

Hi, Mom! That's my article, ranked at #1 today...

Quick note to say, “thanks!”

Thanks to all my friends and followers on Facebook. I booted up this morning and saw a recent blog post from this site ranked #1 in the “most voted” articles across all blogs in the NetworkedBlogs app. Technically, this is not SEO but it does help spread the web of connections. I got a whole new audience today–ALL DAY–who came and checked out the blog for the first time.

I had to screenshot the moment for our “Small Moments in History” trophy case. Okay, there is no such trophy case. I grabbed the screenshot anyway. Just in case.

Do you use Facebook and write a blog? Or read one or more blogs? You’ll want to explore what you can do with this really cool app. The name again is NetworkedBlogs — Bring your blog to Facebook.

Happy Friday!

Ken

Notice how there are posts ranked lower than mine, even though they have more votes? Yeah, me too. Here’s what I think is going on…

First, it does say up there that this feature is “in beta.” That’s web geek for “we’re still trying to make it work right but thought we’d let y’all play with it anyway ’cause that’s how we test.”

Second, I’m guessing the algorithm may take click-through into account. You know how something that gets ranked #1 often gets enough attention ONCE it’s there to STAY there a while? Well, it’s the only other thing I could think of to explain it. Doesn’t change the fact:

    I’m number one! I’m number one! I’m number… :)
